Introducing: Field Notes
Why I’m slowing down, listening deeper, and writing it all down.
There are some moments that don’t make it into the article.
That don’t belong in a pitch deck.
That wouldn’t trend as a reel.
They’re quieter than that.
Moments when the wind shifts. When a memory surfaces. When the land says something you needed to hear.
That’s what Field Notes is for.
What is Field Notes?
Field Notes is a new reflective series I’m writing as part of my Well & Wild Global Wellness Tour—a journey that’s taking me around the world to explore healing, storytelling, and cultural wellness practices through the lens of a Black woman on the move.
Think of Field Notes as my journal in public:
Small stories from big places
Grounded reflections on travel, memory, and identity
Slow, soulful dispatches from wherever I find myself
Sometimes they’ll come from a faraway country.
Sometimes, like today, they’ll come from back home.
Why now?
Because this moment in my life is about intentional movement.
Not just going places—but listening to what each place has to teach me.
I’ve been a journalist for 16 years. A wellness advocate for nearly as long.
Now, I’m blending both as I travel the world and reflect out loud.
This series is for the ones who want travel to feel like truth—not performance.
Who believe softness is strategy.
Who know that healing doesn’t always look like leaving—it can look like returning with new eyes.
What to expect:
1–2 Field Notes every month as I move through Portugal, Thailand, Mexico, Japan, Senegal and more
Short reads you can exhale into
Honest storytelling, layered with memory, meaning, and a little magic
Mantras at the end of each post to hold onto and carry with you
🖤 Ready?
Then come with me.
The next post, Blackberry Season, drops right now.
It’s a love letter to home, to barefoot beginnings, and the sweetness of returning.
And trust—this is just the start.
Hit subscribe. Stay close. Field Notes are blooming.
